My very first tutorial, so sorry if it's hard to understand or crappy. :P Thanks to GuinevereToGwen for the idea. Her original pic can be found here: [link]

D'oh! I forgot to add something: in Step 4, if you are using safety pins instead of the bar pins, you'll need to hot glue the side of the pin that doesn't open to the back of the red piece.

could this work with ribbon?
Reply
:iconlayeredlikeanonion:
Probably. :) As long as you get different width ribbons for each "flower".

I've been trying to figure out how to make these! I'm Fantine in a community theater production and I wanted to make them as gifts for the rest of the cast

Congratulations on your casting! :D But after I made this tutorial, I had found out that I had done the long way. You can still make them this way, but it can be easier. Find 3 different-sized (small, medium, large) yoyo makers (that's actually what these flower-things are called) at your local crafting store to make this much simpler. They look like this: [link] a plastic wheel with little notches on the side. The instructions usually come with the package, so there will be no hassle of having to figure out how to hand-sew and fix mistakes. I hope your cast enjoys the pins! Vive la France! ;)

I know! I thought the same thing, and I've been debating whether to wear mine to school or not. I decided not because mostly everyone else at my school won't get what it is. :P But go right ahead! :D

xD I will wear mine to work. My students will think it's a pretty flower. And I'll just smile and think, "It's the flower of deathhhh."
